Students Protected From Chocolate in Tempe High SchoolsPosted: 2014-01-31 1-30-14 Peggy McClain
I love chocolate. Light or dark. Plain, in cookies, ice cream, cake, etc. There is not a day that goes by that I don't eat chocolate.
Thankfully, the Tempe Union High School District is protecting people like me who have this unreasonable craving. The Wellness Committee is going to be monitoring the food served to both students and staff in their schools this year.
Phew, I'm glad I graduated from McClintock decades ago because I bet I now wouldn't be able to buy those delicious peanut butter bars covered with chocolate frosting from the snack bar if I attended today.
I guess since the kids don't learn about nutrition at home, it's the job of TUHSD to jump in and protect kids like me from themselves.
Likewise, since parents evidently aren't doing their jobs teaching their kids about sex, TUHSD will ride to the rescue.
It's now well-documented that TUHSD has been considering sex ed curriculum provided or supported by Planned Parenthood. While the final decision is still being debated, and the decision is being made more difficult because TUHSD must abide by SB1009, I am sure the "experts" will make a fine decision.
After all, it has been brought to my attention several times in the last few weeks that Ms. Vicki Hadd-Wissler, Education Director for Planned Parenthood in Arizona, is an expert in her field due to her 20 years of experience. She is such an expert that she hadn't updated her curriculum to fulfill the requirements of SB1009, which was passed in April of 2012. (Planned Parenthood of Arizona knew about the legislation because they fought it two years ago.)
Based on Ms. Hadd-Wissler's expertise in the area of "Womens' Health" and sex education, I am wondering if any of the proposed curriculum refers to studies linking oral contraceptives with breast cancer? It seems that the link is quite apparent, especially when those oral contraceptives are used by the girl before her first pregnancy.

The above article refers to oral contraceptives as Type 1 carcinogens. Wow, this was written in 2006. Media concerned about "Womens' Health", where were you during the 2012 presidential election?
And I am sure the TUHSD curricululm will warn the girls that abortions (Planned Parenthood is the number 1 abortion provider in the country) will increase their chancesof getting breast cancer by 44%.
Hmmmm.......What is going on here? And why is TUHSD on the verge of becoming the mirror image of our federal government? Our First Lady continually tells us how and what to eat. Her husband, our President, asked God to bless Planned Parenthood and is a huge supporter of abortion, even killing the baby that is born alive after an abortion. (See his record in the Illinois legislature.)
If I were attending McClintock today, I could probably not purchase that tasty peanut butter/chocolate bar, but I might have have oral contraceptives recommended to me, just in case. Because I might screw up. Because I have no self-control.
Wait, I have no self-control with chocolate, so give me that peanut butter bar covered with chocolate anyway, TUHSD!
