You need to know the truth about AZ Governor Jan Brewer (SB1070)Posted: 2014-04-07 Darla Dawald on March 27, 2014 Patriot Action Network
A few years ago, the conservatives and anti-amnesty folks across the country adopted Arizona darling, Governor Jan Brewer. Arizona's governor was gaining stardom as the queen of SB1070 and doing the job that the federal government refused to do. The entire case of SB1070 and Gov. Brewer went viral and it wasn't uncommon to see Brewer on Fox news during this time. Some of you may remember the famous photo of Jan Brewer with her finger swagging back and forth in the face of Obama on the tarmac. Brewer has been riding the SB1070 wave ever since she signed the bill.
What most of you don't know is that Gov. Brewer was not really behind SB1070 and allowed it to sit on her desk for 2 weeks before reluctantly signing the legislation written and spearheaded by State Senator Russell Pearce (who has since been recalled by an opposing Hispanic led group). The real hero was and still is Senator Pearce and the legislators in AZ that passed this bill, Not Jan Brewer.
This past week Gov Brewer stated she is not running for re-election (she can't, she termed out), she further states that she will be working for the "pragmatic" Republicans not the ideologues (me, you, and Tea Party folks). Please see this blog from the Alliance of Principled Conservatives:
Governor Brewer joins the battle within the GOP (and it is not on my side)
This week Arizona Governor Jan Brewer announced she is not running for a third term. Well she cannot run for a third term in Arizona so it really means she has decided to not create another constitutional crisis in Arizona, at least on this issue. She then went on to say she intends to remain politically active by joining the war within the GOP on the side of the progressives which she spins as pragmatic.
In a Capitol Media Services article this week Howard Fisher writes, “And she’s going to get deeply involved in helping her party elect “pragmatic” candidates versus the “ideologues” who have taken hold within parts of the GOP.”
So there you have it folks. Brewer is using her notoriety as Ms. SB1070 to raise money which she intends to turn around and use to paint Arizona purple by supporting those who did her bidding.
We need to fight to keep Arizona conservative. The grassroots has been busy and successful in fielding very good, solid Republicans for State Legislative offices. These candidates have stepped up to run all over the state against those who sided with the Democrats to bring Obrewercare to Arizona. They need our help. They need robo-calls, radio ads, and signs exposing the votes of the LegisTraitors.
We need to unite to make our voice stronger and we need to let the country know that Governor Brewer brought Obrewercare/Medicaid Expansion, Common Core, and higher taxes to Arizona.
Why?
Because she also in the article stated: “I could probably be on the stump every week someplace in this country”
and
“Brewer also said no one should be surprised if she shows up in the early caucus and primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire. She said, though, that would be in support of a candidate and not to get herself a slot as some Republican’s running mate.”
Does her plans include stumping for Chris Christy? Running with him? Or just raising money for a run at the AZ U.S. Senate seat in 2016?
Which scares you more?
Governor Brewer is using her position in signing SB1070 and the fame that followed to fund raise for the establishment types that we are fighting. It's important for you to understand and know this information so that you do not support without having all the facts.
Be careful whom you support this year. Some of these people are sold out to the establishment and will use principled conservatives' money to fund RINO's against the true conservatives running for office.
We are providing additional information so that you have a clearer picture of who Jan Brewer is. She colluded with and pressured 14 Republicans to vote with the Democrats last year in the AZ state Legislature and together they managed to vote in ObamaCare/Medicaid Expansion and Common Core (yes, this is the same Jan Brewer that said she and AZ would NOT allow ObamaCare into our state). The 14 Republicans changed the legislative rules in the middle of the night and refused to answer questions from Republicans. We call them LegisTraitors! View the video here .
Since then the 14 including Jan Brewer have been censured by the party:
Principled Republicans Keep Their Promises
The Republican Legislative districts throughout Arizona are censuring Governor Brewer and all or a portion of the 15 Legislators keeping with the promise they made in the resolutions passed by every Republican legislative district but one: "Do not sell out our Republican principles and the promise of 3 years funding that will benefit a few special interests at the cost of our State sovereignty and our core Republican values. We will adamantly oppose those who compromise our core values for short term political expediency. "
Statement From A J LaFaro, MCRC Chairman: It's unfortunate the Resolution to Censure even needed to be considered and voted on; however, the Republican Party is at a critical crossroads in its history. A majority of Republicans are frustrated and ‘mad as hell’ with people who say they are Republican but do not support the principles and policies set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform. It's time to purge the Republican Party of the individuals who say they are Republican but support and vote with the progressive socialist Democrats,
According to Article I Section 1 of the MCRC Continuing By-Laws Revised January 12, 2013:
- The objective of the MCRC is to uphold the principles and policies as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform.
We will promote the political education of all Republican Party workers and loyalty to the Republican Party platform. We will also support the election of our party candidates who uphold the principles and policies as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform. Our Republican members and the public should never forget what the Governor and 14 State Legislators did.
Censures Passed in the following areas:
"Whereas, 15 Republican State Legislators formed an alliance with Democratic elected officials for the express purpose of thwarting the will of the Republican majority in the legislature and violating Republican Party principles and the Republican Party Platform ..."

A RESOLUTION OF THE EXECUTIVE GUIDANCE COMMITTEE (EGC) OF THE MARICOPA COUNTY REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE (MCRC) MARICOPA COUNTY, STATE OF ARIZONA
TO CENSURE ARIZONA GOVERNOR JAN BREWER AND 14 STATE LEGISLATORS
WHEREAS, Governor Jan Brewer conspired with 14 liberal Republican state legislators to form an alliance with the Democrat minorities in the Senate andd House for the express purpose of thwarting the will of the Republican majorities and violating the Arizona Constitution, the Republican Party Principles and the Republican Party Platform, including but not limited to the following:
- They implemented the passage of Medicaid expansion - a key part of the disastrous healthcare plan known as ObamaCare.
- They implemented government mandated national healthcare.
- They approved taxpayer funding for abortions and increased funding for abortion services.
- They expanded eligibility for welfare benefits, and invited 300,000+ new people into the welfare system.
- They raised taxes.
- They voted against tax relief and kept Arizona as the state with the second highest tax rate in the nation.
- They voted against auditing the Arizona hospital bed tax.
- They increased property taxes.
- The only tax relief they offered was for special-interest industries who could afford to hire lobbyists.
- They rejected a balanced budget and voted for one with a structural debt of $400 million.
- They removed government oversight for special interests.
- They voted against verifying citizenship as a requirement for Medicaid benefits.
- They removed funding for English immersion for non-English-speaking students, thus ensuring the continuation of the failed, Democrat supported bilingual programs.
WHEREAS, they corrupted the legislative process by suspending the Senate and House rules and depriving the public of the opportunity to scrutinize and comment on their proposed legislation.
WHEREAS, they stymied the legislative process, dishonored American legislative traditions, stifled the fundamental precepts of fairness and openness, and violated decorum by refusing to debate.
WHEREAS, they violated the wishes of the vast majority of Republican precinct committeemen in the state of Arizona who had overwhelmingly opposed the passage of Medicaid expansion, making their wishes known publicly in formal written resolutions.

WHEREAS, they violated the separation of powers defined in the Arizona Constitution by voting for a budget amendment originated by the Executive branch of government.
WHEREAS, they violated the Arizona Constitution by surrendering the legislative authority to tax to an unelected bureaucrat in an Executive branch agency, and made such taxes subject to approval by the federal government.
WHEREAS, they forced passage of a tax increase by a simple majority vote, disregarding the will of the voters of Arizona who amended the Arizona Constitution via Proposition 108 in 1992 requiring 2/3 of the legislature to approve any measure that results in a tax increase.
WHEREAS, they were rewarded for their votes with hundreds of thousands of dollars in political campaign contributions from the Arizona Chambers of Commerce, the healthcare industrial complex, lobbyists and special interest groups.

PASSED & APPROVED this 7th day of November, 2013, by the Executive Guidance Committee of the Maricopa County Republican Committee, Maricopa County, State of Arizona.

Resolution of the Pima County Republican Party In opposition to the Governors expansion of Medicaid (AHCCCS) in support of Obamacare.
Preface: Governor Jan Brewer met with the Republican Party leadership from across Arizona, including County and LD Chairmen, to explain her plan to expand Medicaid (AHCCCS). Her plan would implement provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) to raise Medicaid eligibility to133% of the Federal poverty level with Arizona ultimately paying at least 10-20% of the cost. She proposes to finance Arizona’s cost by an "assessment" on hospitals. Having heard the Governor's proposal, and given serious consideration to her position, the Executive Committee of the Pima County Republican Party, including the Pima County GOP Chairman and the Chairman and representatives of each of the Legislative Districts therein, voted unanimously to oppose the Governor's plans to expand Medicaid in support of ObamaCare.
Whereas, The Voters of Arizona clearly expressed their will to reject implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) when they voted to amend the Arizona Constitution via Proposition 106 in 2010. The State of Arizona cannot afford to be saddled with the costs of implementing this federal program, AND the People of Arizona do not support Obamacare, assisting in the implementation of Obamacare, or subsidizing the Federal Government's implementation Obamacare with State funds.
Whereas, The "assessment" on hospitals is in reality just a tax - and worse yet a hidden tax - that will ultimately be passed on to all hospital patients in higher costs. A tax increase requires super-majority approval in the legislature, and labeling it as an "assessment" is a disingenuous attempt to skirt that requirement.
Whereas, No government entitlement program has ever effectively been scaled back, or eliminated, or held within its initial cost projections. The long term and evolving costs of the Obamacare Medicaid Expansion will surely bankrupt Arizona just as surely as Obamacare will bankrupt the USA.
Whereas, The US Supreme Court explicitly ruled that each State is free to reject implementation of the Obamacare Medicaid Expansion and Insurance Exchanges. These two programs are the cornerstone of the Affordable Care Act. Without implementation of these programs Obamacare collapses as a practical functioning program. The Federal government is incapable of implementing these programs by 2014 or even 2016 without the local organization, legwork, and financial subsidies by the St ates. Thus the fastest and most efficient means to end Obamacare is simply for each State to refuse to do the Federal Government's job for them and allow them to fail.
Whereas, Governor Brewer touts AHCCCS as the conservative model for Medicaid and encourages us to expand the program to show the other states how to do it right. We believe There is no such thing as a conservative model for expanding Socialism. Supporting the big government takeover of our health care system, even for a short term gift of federal funds, does NOT reflect the values of the Republican Party or the interests of the taxpayers of Arizona.
Therefore it is Resolved: We, the Executive Committee of the Pima County Republican Party, Officers, Members at Large, Chairmen and representatives of LD 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 14, unanimously affirm and declare our opposition to the Governor's plan to expand Medicaid in support of Obamacare.
In Conclusion: While we applaud Governor Brewer's decision to stand firm against the Exchanges, we oppose her support for the Medicaid expansion. We urge Governor Brewer, and all Republican legislators, to hold the line against enabling the socialist takeover of our health care system and insurance industry by rejecting the Medicaid expansion. Do not sell out our Republican principles and our birthright of Liberty for a bowl of lentils and the promise of 3 years funding that will benefit a few special interests at the cost of our State sovereignty and our core Republican values. We will adamantly oppose those who compromise our core values for short term political expediency. Governor Brewer is correct that "elections have consequences". She is wrong in believing that it means that we must roll over and forsake our core values as the Arizona Republican Party whenever Republicans lose a national race.

The actions above are what prompted me to run for AZ State Rep in my district of LD 8, as both of my reps voted with the 12 other LegisTraitors!
Governor Jan Brewer is not who the country thinks she is. She is one of the moderate RINO's, that is going to fund raise using her position as the person that passed SB1070, to prevent principled Republicans/Conservatives from getting elected.
It's important that you know the facts and spread this information so others do not fall prey to her devises and do not send her any additional funds or support.
God Bless the USA,
