A Vote For Scott Smith Is A Vote For SerfdomPosted: 2014-08-10 8-10-14 Arizona Freedom Alliance
Consider some facts:
Smith did not complete his second term as Mesa Mayor before resigning to run for governor. Using the Mayor's office as a stepping stone?
As Mayor of Mesa and Vice President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors that partners with Agenda 21/ICLEI, he signed the climate change compact for Mesa, becoming the 1000th person in that organization to sign on. His goal was to encourage the feds to impose global warming regulations on us. http://www.mayors.org/climateprotection/cities.asp?state=AZ
He participated in the Sustainable Cities Network conference with that bastion of conservative thought, ASU, along with many other the Mesa officials. http://sustainability.asu.edu/docs/SCN/may10_valleywide/SCN5_12_10A...
He participated in the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments held at the UN in New York City.

These trips no doubt taken on the taxpayer's dime. Make that 'dimes' as it took many dimes to pay for all this.
Smith got a very favorable write-up in the Phoenix New Times, never known to ever say anything remotely favorable about Republicans or other conservatives. They drip progressivism.

But it's not all bad. He cracked down on all those massage parlors. Vigorously!
So, why is Smith claiming conservative status when clearly, he belongs to the Republican establishment, or maybe a closet Democrat. He's what Truman called a "dimestore Democrat." (From the book, Takover) His record with Agenda 21/ICLEI clearly shows what he would do as governor of Arizona... hand it over to the UN!
