Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Jan 7th prior to the State Statutory meeting on Jan 24th (BOS) approved appointed precinct committeemen. The Board of supervisors concluded the PCs appointed between the Primary election and the Jan 24 State Statutory meeting could NOT vote at the Jan 10 MCRC and Jan 24 AZGOP Statutory meetings.
http://www.maricopa.gov/clk_board/mee..., There is some interesting and inaccurate statements by Timothy Schwartz, former LD 30 Chairman where most of the appointed PC’S are from Made comments accusing John McCain of retaliating for the censure at the Jan 2013 meeting. Recorder Helen Purcell and Elections Officer Karen Osborne, also spoke and explained their duties when MCRC Chairman submits a list of name to be appointed they verify the information and pass it to the Board of Supervisors.
Lisa James, Karen Owens and Attorney Kory Langhofer asked the Board of supervisors to delay the appointments until after the Jan 24 AZGOP State meeting.
The Board of Supervisors, stated that state statutes determine that it is the Board of Supervisors responsibility is to properly process what is forwarded to them, and not become entangled in party bylaws.
