Legal Follow Up to TUHSD Planned Parenthood Vote
Peggy McClain 5-20-14 Education Action Network
Everyone, please share the following which is posted on Alliance Defending Freedom's website. This is a long letter, but important.
We need to get this information to anyone who will listen. Tempe Union High School's Sex Ed committee knew exactly what they were doing all spring. Whether the Board felt pressure from a small group or not, it did not listen to the majority of the citizens, which is its responsibility. Anyone who attended the May 7, 2014 meeting saw the confusion as what started out as a well-run board meeting turned into a fiasco.
Those in other districts, know the tactics that Planned Parenthood will use while partnering with a school district. Although the cast members were terrible actors, the plot will be the same in every district now that the table is set.
Do we sit by and let TUHSD get away with this? Some of the Board members will run again for school board or for other offices in the future; in fact, one Board member who voted YES is currently running for another office as we speak. Will we remind voters these members did not represent the community and possibly cost the District money for legal defense and the ridiculous amount of time it will take to develop an acceptable curriculum from one that doesn't come close to aligning with SB1009?
Finally, Thank You to Alliance Defending Freedom for their thorough attention to this matter.
