Frank Riggs On The IssuesPosted: 2014-08-06 Wes Harris 7-28-14 I have received inquiries regarding Frank's position on a number of issues. Among these are Border Security and Push Back against The Federal Government . The attached communications appeared in today's Maricopa County Republican Briefs and in case your are not on that distribution list I am passing these along for your review and for you to pass to your friends and neighbors. Frank Riggs is, in my opinion, the only one running that truly has the qualifications to handle the myriad of problems facing our State today. Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs: I've been asked, "How do we know you have the guts and are strong enough to do what is necessary to secure our border and protect our state?" I've been tempted to respond, "Have you seen my TV ad?" (see ad). Joking aside, my record speaks for itself. I'm tested, trusted and ready to lead on day one. I've taken three oaths: the soldier's oath when I enlisted in the Army (I'm the only vet running for governor), the law enforcement oath when I became a police officer out of the Army, and the oath of office when I was sworn into Congress for three terms. My strength of character and leadership capabilities were forged by military, law enforcement and congressional service that taught me physical and moral courage and the absolute importance of honesty and integrity. I served as a military policeman, military police investigator and military police supervisor in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, I was a police officer and deputy sheriff and performed a number of assignments including patrol, investigations and crime prevention. As a U.S. Congressman, I helped secure the funding to build the double fence along the California border with Mexico, which was extended into Arizona along the Yuma Sector of the border, and I compiled a consistent voting record on congressional legislation to combat illegal immigration and amnesty measures (congress/50/votingrecord).
· Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs: I want to continue the fence along the Tucson Sector of the border and deploy the manpower and technology necessary to secure that Sector. I propose to reorient the Arizona National Guard's mission to include law enforcement and border security, and deploy those units to supplement the Border Patrol, and border county sheriff's departments, in stopping the drug and alien smugglers and stemming the tide of illegal immigration and border violence. I also intend to expand the Arizona Rangers, a proud organization that dates back to 1901 when Arizona was a territory. Today, 350 men and women voluntarily serve as Arizona Rangers in 15 Ranger Companies throughout the state under the Arizona Peace Officers and Standards Training Board (POST) requirements. As the only candidate for Governor with both military and law enforcement experience, I'm prepared to serve as Commander-In-Chief of the Arizona National Guard, and as the Chief of the Arizona Rangers, and will personally lead, from the front, the enforcement and security of our border.
