Riggs For Governor 8-21-14
We are just 5 days away from our Super Tuesday, and what we know will be the August Surprise of nominating Frank Riggs for Arizona Governor! The pundits, political operatives, media, and establishment machine are in for a political awakening when we the conservative grassroots and rural Arizona voters flex our democratic muscles and vote for Frank Riggs- the lone, true conservative in this gubernatorial primary.
Everywhere I travel, I hear the same things: “After hearing Frank speak, there is no question he is the right person for the job.” “There’s no comparison to Frank’s proven conservative record and clear plan for Arizona.” “Frank Riggs is the ONLY conservative choice for governor.” The list goes on…
My favorite? “We can’t afford NOT TO ELECT Frank Riggs!”
I believe this and I know you do too. In fact, it is your ardent support of Frank that has made our fellow conservatives aware that a vote for Frank is a viable vote for principled conservatism and timely leadership. This primary is not about the glaring weaknesses or shortcomings of the other candidates- it is about Frank’s STRENGTHS and Day-One-Ready leadership capability, plain and simple. Frank is the right person for the job under any circumstance, and Arizona needs Frank now.
Thus, as we race toward August 26th, it is up to each and every one of us to spread the word. After the initial but unusually low return of early ballots, the majority of our fellow Republicans and conservative-leaning Independents have still not yet voted. This race will be won on Tuesday, and it will be won by the candidate whose supporters have galvanized the largest coalition of likeminded voters who actually SHOW UP at the polls.
Money doesn’t matter. Media surrogacy of other candidates does not matter. Establishment party machine support does not matter. None of it matters if WE THE PEOPLE show up and vote for Frank Riggs. We have the vote, now and always, in our hands. It is up to us to exercise this divine right, and it is incumbent upon us to rally our fellow citizens to do the same. This is the simple reality of our democracy- it is run by those who SHOW UP. And if we show up- if we the supporters and defenders of individual liberty, state sovereignty, and the Constitution, show up- we will be victorious. None of the political handicapping, none of the media-driven hysteria, none of the fake polling numbers make a bit of difference if WE SHOW UP, and get others to show up.
Last night in Snowflake, Frank spoke to a large group of undecideds, and also folks who had already decided on another candidate but have not yet voted. After hearing Frank speak, all but two changed their mind and/or decided to support Frank. Some of these people had not even heard anything about Frank, yet his message is that clear and that convincing.
The question came up again- “But can Frank win?” The conventional “wisdom” is that “Frank entered the race late… he doesn’t have all the incessant TV ads… he isn’t spending millions of dollars promoting himself…” And you know what? That is all true. Because message trumps money. Record triumphs over rhetoric. And experienced leadership overcomes lazy journalism. Remember, in a field of six candidates, the winner must only gain a plurality of the vote. Frank only needs approximately 160,000 votes and 18-22% of the voters to cast their vote for him to win the nomination.
There are roughly 570,000 military veterans in Arizona. If one fifth of them vote for Frank, and a small contingent of principled conservative voters also cast for Frank- he wins. And we win. So if you are a veteran, or you know veterans who haven’t voted, please reach out to as many as possible between now and Tuesday and make sure they know Frank is the only veteran in the race. While being a veteran is far from Frank’s only qualification, it is a major factor for some veteran voters as we’ve heard in the past week. For some candidates, the VA scandal made veterans a convenient campaign priority. As a veteran himself, veterans are a daily priority for Frank. His commitment is unwavering, and his service to veterans is perpetual.
At the Flagstaff gubernatorial forum last Monday, all candidates but Doug Ducey and Andrew Thomas were present, including the single Democrat in the entire state of Arizona qualified to lead that party, Fred DuVal. The consequences of this primary could not have been made more clear. While Frank’s opponents all provided squishy, unprincipled and unproven campaign talking points, Frank clearly (to a largely liberal Flagstaff audience) outlined his conservative vision for Arizona, unequivocally stating that he will repeal Common Core on Day One, roll back Medicaid expansion, put troops on the border, stop the flow of illegal immigration, and stand up to the federal government while exercising Arizona’s constitutionally-protected state sovereignty.
Fred DuVal was equally clear on his vision for Arizona. Left Said Fred stated that on day one of his fantasy administration, he will issue AN EXECUTIVE ORDER RESCINDING THE BAN ON DRIVERS LICENSES FOR ILLEGALS. DuVal didn’t stop there of course, but his position on immigration gives us a pretty good road map to his liberal intentions for our state. I think we’ve all had enough of EXECUTIVE overreach that tramples on the Constitution and the sovereign will of the people.
It was also clear that Fred does not regard Frank’s GOP primary opponents with any degree of worry. On the other hand, Fred does not want to tangle with Frank, as they have done on a few occasions this primary season, and certainly back when Fred worked in the Clinton White House while Frank worked in the People’s House, the United States House of Representatives. Frank isn’t intimidated by Slick Freddie, because Frank is tough, incredibly smart, well-versed on every issue, and has experience-based leadership forged in legislative battle.
So the real gubernatorial race is between big government, nanny-state liberalism, and limited government, constitutional, liberty-based conservatism. And there is nobody more qualified or more prepared to carry our message than Frank Riggs.
My fellow Conservative Arizonans- we can do this together. We are unbeatable when we SHOW UP. I implore you all to call ten people a day, and in turn have those ten people call ten people until next Tuesday. I urge you to email your list of friends and family and expanded network of fellow patriots to get them to the polls, to SHOW UP AND VOTE for Frank Riggs. This primary presents us with the unique opportunity to cast a principled vote that DOES, AND WILL MATTER.
Please let us know if you need palm cards to hand out or signs to put up at your local polling precincts on Tuesday. Let us leave no vote unturned. And let us TAKE BACK CONTROL OF OUR DEMOCRACY. Frank Riggs will lead from the front, and he will lead with us by his side.
