The A-10 Warthog aircraft has recently come under attack by the Air Force generals who want to scrap it and replace it with newer, shinier, more expensive aircraft. Those newer, shinier, more expensive aircraft are great for the military/industrial complex, but disastrous for the troops on the ground because none of those newer, shinier, more expensive aircraft can provide the close air support that the A-10 can. It can also be disastrous for the AZ economy because scrapping the A-10 will most likely mean the closing of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
