The recent announcement by Fox's liberal news analyst, Kirsten Powers--that she is an “orthodox Evangelical Christian”--should give pause to every Christian, conservative, and Fox viewer.
Ms. Powers must be philosophically double-jointed—given the mindboggling implication of her announcement that, in seven years, her Christian beliefs never conflicted with her work as a high-echelon Democratic Party strategist, who today remains committed to that party’s Socialist / Progressive agenda.
Soviet disinformation always contained a kernal of truth, and there is truth here: Ms. Powers does attend New York City’s Redeemer Presbyterian Church, which does officially espouse the tenets of the Presbyterian Church. Yet its mission statement is fraught with phrases like, “help build a great city for all people…community formation, and social justice.”
Two questions must be asked: Does Redeemer’s mission statement reflect religion, or really orthodox progressivism, cloaked in the trappings of religion? And, is Kirsten Powers really a prime example of the new face of Leftist disinformation? Because that’s the inescapable implication of the image she has carefully cultivated for herself--that of a reasonable, religious Leftist whom even Hannity and O’Reilly can like.
